Whistling Teal (Dendrocygna javanica) is a small duck also known as the Indian Whistling Duck or the Tree Duck. It breeds in South Asia and South East Asia and is unusual for it’s habit of whistling in flight and roosting in trees.It is gregarious bird, and at favoured sites, such as Carambolin Lake in India, the flocks of a thousand or more birds arriving at dawn are an impressive sight.
