Our Founding Story

Whistling Teal – is named after a duck generally found in Indian sub continent around  fresh water bodies. A gregarious species, it embodies a spirited life being a bit of an enigma compared to other ducks – roosting in trees……and whistling.

This company was envisioned by Greg Johnson back in 2002 just after the Indian general insurance business had been recently liberalized. The founder members are very proud of their industry pedigree and  had long imagined a new kind of professional services to the insurance industry. They had also foreseen  the tremendous need for talent and ensuing skills shortage within the industry.
 
Traditional consulting generally follows an “outside in” approach for helping business — evaluating best practices & then making recommendations. But the implementation is generally left  to the clients. Whistling Teal Consultancy is breaking a new ground by creating an "inside out" approach, where consultants could work in partnership with the businesses / clients and their teams to transfer knowledge, build operational capability and drive change through all levels of the enterprise.

With that vision the company was founded in 2008.
